Finding your inner artist, day 11: About losing the fear of being wrong

Today’s quote:

To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. ~ Joseph Chilton Pearce

Did you ever look at other artists and think: “I’ll never be as good as them?” Do you still worry about “not getting it right”?

Most artists you admire probably have exactly the same doubts from time to time. The only difference is that they carry on regardless. They embrace the fact that not everything they create is “right” first time round, so they try again. And sometimes, the wrong thing might even turn out to be the right thing in the end…

Many artists I know are not very confident. Some quite openly admit to it, others put up a front to hide their self-doubt.
Deep inside, we all want to be liked, and we are all scared to fail. Fear of failure can sometimes lead to not even trying.

When was the last time you didn’t even try, because you believed what you have to offer cannot possibly be good enough? Why did you believe this was the case, and who told you so? Yourself, or someone else?
